NOTE: Perhaps the most memorable event in Williamsport baseball history was "The Great Potato Caper," where catcher Dave Bresnahan of the then Double-A Williamsport Bills fooled everyone on the field and in the stands by throwing a potato instead of a ball to try to pick off a runner at third base. When the potato sailed into left field, the runner trotted home, only to be tagged out by Bresnahan. The runner was eventually called safe.
